Church has resumed it’s 10:30 starting time. Sunday School has started back, and it is wonderful to see the children back in church.
Food Pantry Dates in October are 8th & 22nd from 12:00 to 3:00pm.
The Mission of the Month for October is NOAH (Needy or Alone and Hungry) is a community meal served every Sunday at One Church Street in Johnstown. It has been a mission of St. John’s Episcopal Church for 30 years, with support of the community, the Fulton County Council of Churches and other charitable groups. NOAH serves a hot, nutritious, free meal every Sunday to anyone. They serve 500 people every month. Donations made be made in the Pink envelopes in the pews.
October 10th NLH Quilters Will meet at 10:00am to 2:00pm. Please bring a lunch and enjoy working together making quilts for Palliative patients at NLH. All are welcome. There are many jobs other than sewing! See Nancy Frank or Cindy Davidson.
Bible Study takes place each Tuesday at 6pm. The study for fall is “Wrestling with Doubt, Finding Faith” by Adam Hamilton. This will begin on October 15th, and is available in person at church, on Zoom or on Facebook Live.
Games & Giggles This group is open to everyone and takes place on the first Friday each month from 10 to noon. However, due to scheduling will not be held in November or December.
The Parkinson’s Advocacy and Education Group meets on the third Thursday each month at 2:00pm in Fellowship Hall for discussions and guest speakers. All are welcome.
Needleworkers and Painters Women of the church and friends meet on Wednesdays from 9 to 11am each week to knit crochet, hem, paint and talk for two hours of friendship.
October 20th CONFIRMATION CLASS Pastor Bonnie will be doing a confirmation class for young adults thirteen years and older. After completion these youth will be accepted into membership of the church. The confirmation curriculum is called Changing the World, Confirmation for the Missional Church. Class will begin after church on Sunday, October 20th. Lunch will be provided. Please let Pastor Bonnie know if you are interested in attending.
October 25&26Rummage Sale The annual Fall Rummage Sale will be October 25&26with set up on Thursday (10/24) at 9 am. PLEASE NO RUMMAGE UNTIL AFTER 10/13. HELPERS ARE ALWAYS NEEDED
October 31 TRUNK N TREAT Join us at the church for our annual Trunk N Treat, on Thursday, October 31 we will pull up our cars and open the trunks to serve our local children treats. Every year, we try to provide our local children with a safe place to come for a Halloween treat. Decorate your Trunk or yourself, it is up to you. But join us for a fun evening from 6 to 8 pm. Treats will be needed!
