New Beginnings Christian Academy Liberian Food Needs
The Board of Directors of New Beginnings Christian Academy USA met and during our conversation with Victor, we learned how the COVID-19 is affecting Liberia. People are out of work and staying at home. While that may sound like many of us, in Liberia that means there is no food available to families. Victor has been trying to provide rice to the families of his future students to help them with their hunger.
We asked Victor to put together a list of food that would be essential to help feed people as well as the approximate cost of this food. If you feel called and can help with any of these items, please send a check to Mayfield Presbyterian Church and put in the memo line, New Beginnings Christian Academy or Victor’s school – Food and we will send the money to him.
Victor is targeting 50 homes with the minimum of 6-8 occupants in a home. He said that some homes have up to twelve people. We asked him how long a bag of rice would last and he estimated that a 25kg bag of rice might feel a household for 2-3 weeks.
